A sudden large selling pressure appeared at the end of the afternoon session, causing the market to close down by 8.24 points (-0.66%), to 1,246.35 points. Similarly, HNX-Index lost 2.71 points (-1.2%), closing at 222.95 points.

A risk to note during this period is the high DXY index, which could put pressure on domestic exchange rates and lead to increased net selling by foreign investors in the early part of the new year.

Support zone: 1,235 - 1,240 points.

Resistance zone: 1,250 - 1,255 points.
