On Wednesday and Thursday next week (April 30 & May 1, 2014), BVSC will organize the first "Charity Meals" program at the Department of Pediatrics - National Hematology & Blood Transfusion Hospital. Treated in this department are children, mainly with cancer and incurable blood diseases, who often have to undergo radiation therapy and long-term treatment, so conditions are very difficult.
In addition to donating cash to convert into meals, the Trade Union & Youth Union Executive Committee encourages BVSC employees and benefactors to donate in the following forms:
- Encourage your children to draw pictures for pediatric patients. On each picture, write the words "Wish you get well soon" to add meaning to these pictures
- Donate children's books and stories (old or new, be careful not to tear or donate inappropriate books) for each patient room or contribute to the Hospital Library
- Donate toys (old or new, not torn or damaged, do not donate inappropriate toys) for pediatric patients
- Donate candy
How the program is organized:
- Employees participating directly at the hospital will bring vouchers to each patient undergoing treatment. Each voucher is worth 25,000 VND
- Due to treatment conditions, pediatric patients and their families are not allowed to eat or drink in the hospital room, so when they receive the voucher, they will bring it to the hospital canteen to use at any time according to each family's needs.
- Each voucher is also facilitated by the hospital Nutrition Department to be divided for use (eg: 1 voucher buys 1 serving of porridge + 1 small serving of rice) with the purpose of providing more practical help to patients and their families.
