During the interim review (early morning of April 8, 2026), FTSE Russell recognized significant progress in the Vietnamese stock market regarding market accessibility via global brokers. At the same time, it officially confirmed that the roadmap for upgrading Vietnam from a Frontier Market to a Secondary Emerging Market—originally announced in October 2025—remains unchanged. The allocation of Vietnamese stocks into FTSE’s index baskets will officially commence on Monday, September 21, 2026.

Following this decision, FTSE will gradually transition Vietnamese stocks out of Frontier indices and into Emerging Markets indices. This transition will be conducted in four phases, and the final list of Vietnamese stocks eligible for inclusion in the relevant indices will be announced on August 21, 2026.
